Delivered over 3 remote sessions, 3D Remixing served as an introduction to 3D modelling and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and creative editing of 3D models from a variety of museums’ collections. Through researching and editing these models, participants were able to view these artefacts from a unique perspective.
Paticipants were taught various creative editing techniques using Meshmixer 3d design software and tasks with reimagining digital artefacts to create 3D files in their own style, combined models from different eras and regions to make their own wholly original creations. The final submissions were accompanied by a short passage to give a museum-style description of their newly created artefact, which will be displayed inside a virtual exhibit later in the project.
