We’re giving a shout out to some brilliant opportunities available from one of our fellow #KicktheDust projects!

Don’t Settle have partnered with Beatfreeks on the National Youth Trends survey. They want to better understand how young people think and feel, as well as give insight into what it means to be a young person living in the UK today.

Don’t Settle have created a section in the survey related to representation and diversity in the heritage sector, which will enable them to explore the relationship between young people of colour and heritage. The findings of the survey will be communicated back to the heritage sector – so this really is a chance to have your say and kickstart change.

To do that, they want to hear from you and there are two ways you can get involved:

  1. Everyone can fill out the survey – it takes under 10 mins and you can win prizes, like a £100 voucher of your choice.
  2. The second way is for young people of colour to participate in a focus group. They are holding seven focus groups online over Zoom for young people of colour aged 16-25 to capture more in-depth qualitative data for the heritage section of the report. Anyone interested should go to their community platform, click here to sign up. The participants will also receive a £20 shopping voucher to say thanks for their participation.

It would be great if some of our wonderful RRR participants could get involved or pass this info on to anyone they think might be interested! Let’s get as many people involved as possible and rep’ for NI.
